Logos

Our Wednesday night LOGOS program runs from September through April. This program nurtures the faith of our children and youth through worship skills, Bible study, activities, fellowship, and service projects. The dinner hour is a wonderful opportunity for building intergenerational relationships between our children, youth, and adult members. Music classes from toddlers through middle school are an integral part of our LOGOS Ministry.

WHAT IS THE LOGOS PROGRAM?

Logos is time spent together as a community to practice living as disciples of Jesus Christ. We do this by experiencing four parts every week:

Bible Study
We learn together! Bible Study is the heart of the entire program! Our faith, as presented in the Bible, is studied with the help of skilled teachers and good, sound curriculum. We seek to spiritually challenge all participants.

Worship Skills
We sing together and work on the ways in which we will help lead the whole congregation in worship on Sunday mornings, because worship is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WE DO ALL WEEK.

Activity Time
We play together, and enjoy ourselves as we reveal more and more about ourselves to one another and build community! A variety of games and activities are selected so everyone can have a good experience. Our goal is to have great fun at no one else’s expense.

Family Time
We eat together! During dinner time we sit with the same “table family” each week and have a great home-cooked meal prepared by our LOGOS kitchen staff. We pray, eat, sing, play crazy games, and have a good time. (It’s a party every week!)

WHO CAN BE INVOLVED?

Anyone! Everyone! While LOGOS is a Christian nurturing program for children and youth (grades preK-12), it’s only made possible through the ministry of the adults who work behind the scenes and/or participate in LOGOS as staff. There are many ways to serve, and many varying levels of involvement. We have a place for you!

If you would like to become a staff member, the qualifications are: 1) Love God 2) Love Youth 3) Be willing to offer your gift... in that order! You do not necessarily have to be a member of our church to be involved in LOGOS.

HOW DOES MY CHILD BECOME INVOLVED?

Registration for the LOGOS year is held in September. At registration parents will be able to enroll their child, pay tuition, sign up for parent involvement in the area(s) of your choice, and meet the LOGOS staff to talk with them about any questions you may have. Special registration periods will be scheduled through the year for those who visit as guests and wish to join LOGOS after it has already started.

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS?

There are seven essential elements that make LOGOS work. They are fondly called the “bones” of the LOGOS program, because without them our program would not function any better than a body without bones!

The seven “Bones” are:

  • Everyone participates in all four parts, every week.

  • Everyone participates in Sunday morning worship.

  • The pastor provides leadership and participates in the program.

  • Parents make a commitment to support the weekly program and attend the annual parent’s meeting.

  • The program happens in the middle of the week.

  • LOGOS is a self-supporting program funded by its participants.*

  • The Senior High School youth are our top priority.

*The fees for LOGOS cover the cost of meals, curriculum, the Mission Member contribution and activity supplies. Scholarships, workships, and payment schedules are available--please talk with our Pastor or the LOGOS director.

At LOGOS we have only one rule:

Everyone
is to treat everyone else
as a child of God.
No one has the right
to treat anyone else
as if they do not matter.
