Dr. David R. Tullock serves as the 44th pastor of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. An ordained Baptist minister, Dr. Tullock became a Cumberland Presbyterian in 1998 and is a member of the Tennessee Georgia Presbytery where he has served as Moderator, Chairman of the Committee on the Ministry and has been a delegate of the Presbytery to the Synod of the Southeast. He also serves as chaplain at Bachman Academy, a Christian school of the East Tennessee Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Dr. Tullock is a graduate of Carson Newman College, in Jefferson City, Tennessee and holds two graduate degrees from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, including a Doctor of Ministry. He has had extensive training in Family Systems Theory and Death and Grief Education. He was a popular teacher of English and Religion at Chattanooga State Technical Community College and Pastoral Care in the Program of Alternative Studies at Memphis Theological Seminary. He is a gifted preacher and an engaging pastor.

Believing in social justice, Dr. Tullock has led congregations in developing and participating in various ministries which help the disenfrancised, those living outside the bounds of society because of sickness, grief, poverty or life-circumstances. He was founder of Rossville Community Ministry in Rossville, Georgia, which serves as a social ministry to the poor and involves over 25 churches and organizations. He is actively involved in FirstCare, a bereavement ministry, Habitat for Humanity and Heifer Project International.

Dr. Tullock’s greatest delights in life are his wife, Cristy, and their two children, David Isaac and Sadie Grace. Of all the titles he has, his favorite is Daddy.
